sander-cohen:

SPEAKING OF POSTING SKETCHES I doodled this last night—more character outfit designs! most of my personal art right now consists of early concept doodles for my huge project (tentatively called) Amisse, which is an up-and-coming webcomic thing that features crazy Egyptian gods and Roman emperors and Renaissance alchemists disguised as metaphors of life! SO HIPSTER
every night I spend a 30 minutes or so scrawling down plot stuff and character designs and maps and timelines in my sketchbook, which is turning out to look at like a codex, which is pretty cool, and so a lot of my planning work is on that
the character up here isn’t Anubis but I’m going to stay discreet about anything Amisse-related I post because I’m srs about this project probably because this is going to be the main highlight of my art portfolio/college interviews but um yeah!
I plan on having the first ‘Act’ out (100 pages fuck yeeeaaa) by February or March of 2012! it is actually more text than art but I am through with most of the planning work and now need to focus on ~*aesthetic elements*~ of the project so I am super excited about this and I have constructed a fool-proof anti-failure plan AND THIS IS ALL I’M GOING TO POST FOR THE NEXT 3 YEARS ART-WISE

Anubis sits and ponders about the nature of the universe
or more accurately, why I haven’t started studying for my world history test yet

I drew some art today and that was kind of weird
he’s still wondering why I haven’t finished my two Rome essays

I’ve been really getting into concept and character design recently, because as of now my most desirable future career lies in the magical world of video game creation.
I find generic designs to be very boring—such as characters clad in a purely medieval-themed outfit, or a group of vagabond adventurers travelling about in a world with only steampunk elements. I want to mix ideas together ideas that don’t necessarily compliment each other, such as creating a world with sci-fi technology but ancient civilization-age cultures. In most cases, combining opposite/unrelated theories together yields a very awkward final result, but it is a concept I want to develop.

Anubis if he were in an RPG or video game or something

I like to redraw my REALLY BAD ART and make myself think my new sketch is better but next week I will sit here and wonder why I ever thought this week’s sketch was good
this is my character Discord whom was once a Keeper like Nature n Co. but instead was beaten up by his brother Time and now he is an angry old man with scratches on his face because he got caught in a brawl once in a tavern in medieval Europe
I am bad at anatomy sobbu
